Administration
Principal
Megan Oleson
It is an honor to be a part of the Mesa family! I am very excited to serve as Principal at Mesa and to have the opportunity to serve the students, staff and the community of Mesa.
Prior to starting at Mesa, I was an Assistant Principal at Weikel Elementary in D8 for four years. Additionally, I spent 15 years in the classroom teaching 5th-9th grades and special education K-6th. My experiences have taught me the value of building relationships and the importance of working together for the benefit of all of our students. I am committed to ensuring a safe learning environment as well as a positive and successful educational experience for your child/children.
I am a Wisconsin native and a HUGE Green Bay Packers fan! Go Pack! I completed my undergraduate degrees in Elementary/Middle and Special Education at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire in 1998. Soon after, I moved to the beautiful state of CO where I completed my masters in Curriculum and Instruction with my certification in Administration. I have had amazing opportunities to teach in several CO school districts and lived and taught in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico for two years (go Chivas!). My favorite activities, when I am away from my Mesa family, are: skiing (I LOOOOVE cold and snowy weather), watching football, hiking, reading, cooking, being with my friends, and finding any opportunity to practice speaking Spanish. I am blessed to have amazing friends here in CO. Any chance I have, I spend with these fabulous people! Mesa is a perfect fit for me! I love our family environment and our OUTSTANDING community. We work hard every day to make sure our students will be successful members of our community. We are committed to excellence and strive to create and implement high expectations through engaging and creative lessons. I am so excited to be spending my tenth year in administration and my 25th year in education at Mesa. I look forward to experiencing this adventure with the phenomenal staff and community that surround me.

Assistant Principal
Megan Bailey
My name is Megan Bailey and I am thrilled to continue serving as your Assistant Principal this year. This is my fifth year in this role within District 8 and my fourth year at Mesa Elementary.
Before transitioning to administration, I had the privilege of teaching all grades from K-5 across various states as we followed my husband’s Army career. Additionally, I served as an Instructional Coach in both Louisiana and Colorado. In District 8, I’ve also had the roles of Dean of Students and Interim Assistant Principal.
I hold a Bachelor's and Master's degree from the University of Northern Colorado in Greeley and an Educational Specialist degree and Doctorate in Curriculum and Instruction from Walden University.
A little about me: I grew up in Colorado Springs. My husband, a native of Louisiana, is a retired U.S. Army veteran. We have two children; our son is in middle school and our daughter is in 3rd grade. We are also proud pet owners of three German Shepherds - Astro, Emma, and Zuma. As a family, we love animals and enjoy ATV riding in Woodland Park/Divide and exploring the state in our RV.
I am passionate about education and being an administrator allows me to support students, teachers, and parents on a building-wide level. Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any questions, and anything special education related I am your person to reach out to at the building level. I am excited to serve the Mesa community for another year; Mesa is a wonderful school with a fantastic community, and I look forward to a great year ahead!

Assistant Principal
Christen Mellars
I am thrilled to be part of the Mesa Elementary administrative team this year! This is my first year as an Assistant Principal and I am so excited for what this year has to bring. I have over 12 years teaching experience in various grade levels as well as an administrative intern in various roles. I have taught several grades K-8 in Colorado, North Carolina, and in DoDEA in Stuttgart, Germany. My experiences have afforded me the opportunity to interact with diverse student populations both in and out of the classroom. I earned my Master's Degree in Educational Leadership and Special Education Administration from the University of Northern Colorado. I earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education from Colorado State University Pueblo. I am currently enrolled at Liberty University and am working toward my PhD in Instructional Design and Technology.
I like to consider myself a Colorado native since I was born in Colorado Springs. I moved to California in elementary school and moved back to Colorado as a young adult. I met my husband and he joined the military in 2006. We have moved six times and are excited to final settle down in Colorado, a place we both call home. I have two children. My son is excited to be at the middle school this year and my daughter will be attending Mesa Elementary School. I have a 20-pound Maine Coon cat named Ferris Mewler who enjoys basking in the sun on hot days. My family and I enjoy spending time outdoors any chance we get, especially camping in our newly restored 1969 Volkswagen T1 camper van.
Education has always been my passion. I appreciate watching students grow and show excitement for learning. I am excited to be working alongside the staff, parents, and students at Mesa this year. Please feel free to stop by and say hello or email me any time with questions or concerns. This is going to be the best year yet!

Counselor
Kristina Gregor
Hi Mountain Lions and thank you for visiting my page! I’ve had the pleasure of being the School Counselor at Fountain Mesa Elementary since 2016. All of you - students, staff, and community - have become family to me. Walking into our building each morning and seeing all the beautiful faces brings me so much joy!
Before my career in Education, I was an artist and designer specializing in cabinet and millwork. I had the satisfaction of seeing my kitchen designs in magazines, and even got to work for some famous people now and then! And sure, running my business was exciting and fun but what I wanted even more than that was the feeling of belonging and community that I now enjoy being at Mesa. Our staff is a team! Together we create a building that is safe and welcoming for our students, and that provides the structure, tools, and guidance for them to succeed.
Originally, I come from Florida (go Gators!) where I earned my first BS degree in Vocational Education at a time when no one had ever heard of a woman aspiring to do this. I speak from experience when I tell you that every single student deserves to be and do whatever their dream is in lifehis is ! This is my passionate commitment to our children.
Colorado has been home to me for over 30 years now. We’re proud of our five children and two grandchildren. We root for the home teams like the Avalanche and the Broncos whether they’re easy or hard to love (respectively). My husband and enjoy going to concerts and exploring new places and are always looking forward to our next adventure! And I'm looking forward to Mesa's 2022/2023 adventure as well!

Psychologist
Megan Page
I am excited to join the Mesa team for the 2022-2023 school year! This will be my 14th school-year as a school psychologist in the district. I earned my Bachelor's in Psychology from Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah and my Education Specialist (Ed.S.) degree in School Psychology from the University of Colorado at Denver.
I cherish the time that I spend helping others or learning and growing together with the people of the D8 school community. I believe that children have a desire to make good choices but sometimes need help developing their skill set to do so. It is a tremendous gift for me to work with children to help them gain confidence and self-mastery with the skills to handle a variety of situations.
As the school psychologist I partner with the special education team and administration to identify barriers which may be impeding a student’s academic success. I work with students who need support with regard to their social, behavioral, or emotional skills in the school setting. Depending on student need, I may work with students individually or in small groups on things like: social skills, problem-solving, and anger management.
My wonderful husband and two sons are a great source of support for the time and energy I devote to work. We enjoy spending time outdoors, playing games, and serving in our church. I enjoy reading, drawing, and learning random bits of trivia. There’s always more to learn and new memories to create. I am excited to make new memories with the Mesa school community!
